A dozen timber workers have been killed by armed men in Shan State (South), Myanmar, it has been reported.
The victims had been extracting timber in the Kengtaung-Kenghkam region in Mognai Township when they were shot by men thought to belong to the Shan United Revolutionary Army (SURA).
It is claimed the men were killed because the timber company did not give extortion money to SURA.
