Sveaskog’s US$1.5bn offer to buy the outstanding shares in AssiDomän has been accepted by 95% of shareholders.
Remaining shareholders not taking up the offer by January 14 are expected to be subject to compulsory redemption.
A new board has been elected and Lars Skold, Sveaskog’s president, takes over as AssiDomän president and chief executive from Gunnar Palme, who resigned on December 28.
