The 3,500ft2 Waterston House building is a collaboration between Forestry Commission Scotland, the Scottish Ornithologists Club (SOC) and other sponsors and it will form the Scottish Birdwatching Resource Centre and house the SOC.

The aim is to promote good Scottish timber and design as part of the wood. for good campaign and James Jones of Larbert will saw and transport the timber as part of their contribution to that campaign.
Carpenter Oak will design and build the frame and Russwood at Newtonmore will provide Scottish oak flooring with the timber coming from the Forestry Commission’s Cowal and Trossachs Forest District.
