Finnish timber website Woodmarket.Net has ceased operations, having developed an e-commerce system for companies to market their wood products.

The company, jointly owned by the Finnish telephone company Kuopion Puhelin Oyj and its partner JSOP Interactive, has closed operations until further notice and made its four staff redundant.

Meanwhile, Finland’s dominant timber companies, UPM-Kymmene, Stora Enso and the Metsäliitto Group, are considering e-commerce initiatives.
