Holidaymakers and local people are benefiting from a dramatic new timber frame leisure centre in Somerset.
The Fusion Leisure Centre at Home Farm Holiday Park near Burnham-on-Sea, one of the largest holiday parks in Somerset, is being used extensively by both people staying at the park and local people in a private members’ club.
The two-level centre, built by Pinelog, features a 15x13m pool, children’s splash pool, spa, sauna and steam room, changing facilities, coffee shop, gym, a beauty therapy room and store areas.
A glulam arched roof structure spans wall to wall to provide a dramatic airy building which is unaffected by pool humidity levels. The mezzanine level gym area is supported on timber columns.
The exterior matches other park buildings, so the timber frame has an external leaf of white-painted rendered blockwork with red brick piers.
