An electronic course to inform design/build professionals about the advantages of pressure-treated southern pine and its applications has been launched by the Southern Pine Council.

The programme emphasises the use of treated southern pine lumber for protecting structures from moisture, decay and termites.

Ten lessons include topics such as the pressure treating process, grade and quality marks, proper fasteners and connections and quality finishes.

Participants can also learn how to control moisture and choose preservative treatments.

Upon completion of the one-hour sessions, qualified professionals can earn continuing education credits.
