The company has opened a UK office, Steico Ltd, in Dartford to focus on a market which it says is “one of the most important across Europe”. Mark Wilson has been appointed as managing director.

Steico is offering I-joists, made at its Polish factory as well as flexible and rigid insulation, renderboard and parquet and laminate underlay, in order to offer a one-stop shop for the construction industry.

Steico’s I-joist range has received an international seal of approval with its award of the European Technical Approval, after passing an intensive test programme monitored by the British Board of Agrément (BBA).

“It was our intention to present products that UK contractors can rely on, at any time, in any given situation,” said Heiko Seen, Steico European sales director. “Appointing a UK institute to carry out the evaluation process is just as logical as it assists acceptance on the UK market.”

I-joists are now rolling out at full speed form the new production line, which has a maximum production capacity of 50 million linear metres per year.

The first projects in the UK using Steico I-joists are also underway, with a family home in Oxford due to be finished in a few weeks.
