Mr Wilson’s comments come as Dartford-based Steico prepares to announce details of distributors in central Scotland, the south-east of England and southern Ireland in the next few weeks.
Steico, which is offering a range of I-joist and insulation products for the construction sector, said a small number of regional distributors will hold stocks in the UK and offer a design and cutting service.
The first “Steico house”, utilising Polish-made Steico I-joists for the structure as well as the company’s sheathing and insulation products, has been completed by Modus Global Ltd near Oxford, while New World Timber Frame Ltd have used Steicojoists for floor and roof cassettes for Barton Hill Junior School, Bristol.
Steico floor joists have also recieved NHBC approval for meeting technical requirement R3 (domestic floors).
