Leading timber products importer and distributor Taylor Maxwell Timber is celebrating 20 years of FSC certification.

“Our 20-year commitment to FSC certification speaks to our belief that sustainable forestry benefits everyone, from the communities who depend on these resources to the wildlife that thrives within them,” said Simon Tucker, Taylor Maxwell’s Timber Director.

“I’m proud of the role our business plays in safeguarding forests and driving positive change across our industry.”

The company said since 2005 and its first FSC audit there has been a clear shift in market demand for certified products accompanied by a much greater sense of environmental responsibility.

“We’re committed to making responsible purchasing decisions and the most effective way to do this is by sourcing FSC-certified timber and good supply chain due diligence,” the company said.

“While standards and expectations have increased, compliance now requires more time and assiduousness – but we believe these efforts are essential.”
