California’s biggest timber company is being sued by a green group for allegedly damaging the local oyster population.
Sierra Pacific Industries faces action from the Ecological Rights Foundation which says the company’s Humboldt Bay sawmill is releasing carcinogenic dioxins into the water.
The company acknowledges the presence of dioxins in soil at the mill but denies oysters in the bay are being harmed.
