A lightweight timber frame is to be used to construct the Serpentine Gallery’s summer pavilion in Hyde Park.
It is the 11th pavilion to be commissioned and this year will house a specially created garden. The structure is a timber frame wrapped in scrim coated with a black paste and sand mixture.
It was designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor and will be the venue for various arts and cultural events from July to October.
