A number of low-cost housing developments are being constructed in Devon and Cornwall and it is one of these which will play host to the 1,000th affordable home built by the organisation.
And Justin Sluce, project director with the ADG, has said that around 100 of the homes have been built using a standardised timber frame layout produced by the Advantage South West partnership, an alliance between four West Country housing associations.
This is based on narrow, medium and wide-fronted templates accredited by the Housing Corporation and has seen Frame UK and Advanced Panel Solutions undertake off-site manufacturing to create the homes.
ADG has been working on affordable homes since its creation 22 years ago, although Mr Sluce has added that timber frame construction has become more prominent in the firm’s work in the last three years.
