Reclaimed timber has been used by Welsh shopfitter Inner World to create a stylish interior at a new boutique.
The company, a member of the British Woodworking Federation, salvaged 12in-wide Douglas fir boards from industrial packing cases to guarantee a distressed finish for the floor of the Welsh shop, called Morgan. The boards were laid either side of a central band of slate.
Large sections of locally-grown beech, treated with oil and retaining their wany edge, were employed for counters and display shelves, while book-matched oak was sourced for a door incorporating the main mirror.
Ian Hunt, a director of Inner World, said: “I am always on the look out for materials that might suit some speciic contract and was able to help our clients realise their ambitions for the shop within a tight budget.”
