The Croatian-registered Molat was force to anchor at Seaburn on January 23 to have its timber cargo resecured after the the packs shifted in the North Sea, causing the vessel to list.

Officials at HM Coastguard believe the ship may have struck ice in the North Sea. The Molat had left Norrkopping in Sweden and was en route to Alexandria when it got into difficulty.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard told TTJ on Monday that work to re-secure the cargo was taking time and it was unclear when the ship would continue its journey to Eygpt.
