Tommy Walsh, of TV programme Ground Force, will be promoting wood nationwide as he tours the country publicising his new book.

He and his publisher Collins have struck a sponsorship deal with wood. for good – the campaign aimed at raising the profile of wood in the UK.

Mr Walsh sits on the advisory board of wood. for good and the campaign logo will appear on display material promoting his visits to high street bookshops and out-of-town garden centres throughout the UK.

Charles Trevor, managing director of wood. for good, said: ‘We are thrilled to be involved with Tommy’s new book. It will provide a perfect chance for us to get our message across to the general public and we very much look forward to working with Tommy and his publishers Collins.’

Jane Beaton of Collins said the book is full of ideas of how wood can be put to good use in the home in simple DIY projects from building shelves to erecting fences.

She said: ‘This fits perfectly with the wood. for good message and we are very pleased to be able to support this worthwhile campaign.’
