Södra‘s board of directors are searching for a new chief executive officer and group president.

This follows the departure of CEO Leif Brodén last week due to “differing views [between the board of directors and the CEO] regarding the ongoing development of the company and what is required in the form of leadership and clarity”.

Gunilla Saltin, president of Södra Cell, will temporarily include the group CEO role in her responsibilities and board chairman Christer Segersteen will take over as acting chairman.

Meanwhile, Södra Timber’s Peter Nilsson has decided to leave the company after holding the CEO position since 2005.

Södra’s forest director Hakan Svensson has been appointed acting CEO.
