After a year of fundraising, Travis Perkins plc has presented £408,852 to three of its nominated charities – NCH, Mencap and Mencap’s sister charity, ENABLE Scotland.
Branch and head office employees, trade customers and suppliers of the national merchanting businesses took part in a variety of fund-raising events throughout 2007. Activities included a charity ball, raffles, a family fun day, car washes and a highly successful internal auction that raised more than £13,200.
Geoff Cooper, Group chief executive Geoff Cooper said he was delighted with the result. “Everyone across the merchanting businesses has been committed to the cause and as a direct result of their dedication, we have exceeded our target, and the expectations of each charity,” he said.
This year’s fund-raising events will include the three peaks challenge and a Travis Perkins Group family fun day.
