The Korea Forest Service is battling to stop the spread of pine wilt, a deadly disease in pine trees.
The disease, caused by a certain type of roundworm, is spreading quickly through the country and forestry officials are cutting down infested trees and fumigating to kill the eggs of the beetles.
The management of the disease is primarily limited to prevention as there is no cure once a tree becomes infested.
