At the awards ceremony at the Millennium Hotel in London on Tuesday night, the TTF was one of two finalists in the Environmental Initiative Award, which was open to the organisation’s 300 members. The winner was the National Microelectronics Institute.

While last year the TTF’s entry focused on its Responsible Purchasing Policy, this year it broadened the scope to encompass all its environmental work, including the Timber Trade Action Plan.

“It was a great achievement to reach the finals of a very high quality event,” said TTF chief executive John White. “Although we didn’t win, I know personally how much the TTF and its members contribute to environmental good practice and the role we play in fighting climate change.”

Speaking at the beginning of the ceremony, Trade Association Forum chairman Rob Hayward said the awards reflected the importance that associations placed on best practice.
