The company requested lawyers to liquidate the business and it officially shut down on Friday, February 28. The staff of four lost their jobs.

UCM Timber Specialities Ltd was bought from the administrators in June 2012, four months after UCM Timber plc was wound up. It was acquired by directors Nigel King and Gary Mitchell, with chairman Mark Plews. Nigel King retired early in 2013.
