In order to speed up wood sales from private forests and to support its market position, UPM-Kymmene has decided to raise its purchase price for pine pulpwood by one euro/cubic metre as well as to lower the minimum diameter of the pine pulpwood from seven to six centimetres.
These measures are expected to boost wood supply from private forests and thereby ease up the supply difficulties experienced especially by the sawmills.
