Some 29 of the 206 projects entered in the competition feature US hardwoods, with white oak featuring strongly in the building projects.
White oak was used by Hopkins architects for the restoration of Ickworth House, while tulipwood was chosen by WAM for the Lex vehicle leasing headquarters in Stockport.
“The diversity of the entries is as pronounced as ever and once again the projects demonstrate the beauty, versatility and performance of American hardwoods,” said AHEC’s European director David Venables.
