Japanese forestry company Sumitomo plans to start selling developer-built single-family timber homes in the US.
The move, which marks the first time a Japanese company has entered the US housing market, will see Sumitomo join forces with a US housing firm to buy land for the houses.
Sumitomo will start building homes in Seattle, before branching out into Los Angeles, San Diego and other areas in southern California.
