Belgian timber importer Vandecasteele Houtimport has achieved a West Flanders Sustainability Award for the 8th year in a row.

The company was presented with the award, an initiative of West Flanders Development Agency, the local chamber of commerce and Bureau Veritas Certification, at the awards ceremony in Bruges on June 29.

The Sustainability Awards (formerly called the Environmental Charter), challenges companies to take specific actions to reduce their carbon footprint, such as reducing energy consumption, reusing waste, reducing water consumption and making sustainable purchases.
