The transaction includes the UK production site of CSI Wood Protection Ltd in Cumbria and the European sales and distribution activities of Viance Ltd.
The deal, which involves International Chemical Investors Group as partner in the acquisition, is expected to be completed by the end of July.
"The production site and the employees offer us an outstanding opportunity to further speed up our expansion," said Steffen Rüdiger, managing director of Rütgers Organics.
Mannheim-based Rütgers said the move continued its growth strategy and international expansion, strengthening its market position in the UK, Scandinavia and larger parts of western and eastern Europe.
It also said the Viance range fitted "excellently" into its existing product portfolio, which features the impralit wood preservative treatment range and impra wood coatings.
Viance is based in the US.
