Fredrik Andersson, CEO VIDA Borgstena AB, told TTJ that the damage from the fire in May had been limited to one kiln, which is currently being repaired.
Mr Andersson said the fire brigade had been excellent and VIDA had been lucky there had been no further damage.For a while the fire had threatened the warehouses.
The Borgstena sawmill manufactures structural timber for roof trusses, as well as spruce construction timber, with the main market (60%) being the UK. It has an output of 250,000m3.
Some 20% of its output is delivered to the Swedish market, with the remainder exported.
