The new machine is CNC controlled and can process saw blades from 400-850mm diameter. It is capable of machining HSS and segmental saw blades, and also friction and solid carbide saws.
The new PowerStar is fitted with user-friendly symbols on a large colour touch screen monitor. All rake and clearance angles for standard teeth are available and it is also indicates the optimal grinding speed required.
Vollmer said a key characteristic of the new machine is its ability to infinitely adjust the chamfer angle up to a maximum of 45 degrees.
