West Fraser is curtailing plywood production in response to continuing weak demand.
The Vancouver-based company West Fraser will implement one-week curtailments at its two British Columbia plywood facilities commencing March 30, 2009.
Approximately 600 full and part-time employees will be affected.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of one and two week shutdowns at West Fraser’s seven sawmills.
