Weyerhaeuser Company has announced that it has signed an agreement to purchase Idabel sawmill from Freeman Brothers.

The sawmill, which has the capacity to produce 130 million board feet of lumber annually and employs 130 people, is currently a contract sawmill to Weyerhaeuser, as well as producing wood chips for the container board mill in Valliant, Oklahoma.

The sale is still subject to reaching a final sale agreement, receiving company management approval and regulatory approval.

Freeman Brothers, which also trades as Bibler Brothers Lumber Co and purchased the sawmill in 2001, produces southern pine boards and dimensional timber products for the American market.
