Willmott Dixon has been appointed as the main contractor on a new glulam-framed theatre and entertainment centre being built in Aylesbury.
The Hertfordshire-based construction company is set to complete the build in two years, with 150 exposed laminated timber “fins”, rising 10-15m and spaced irregularly around the exterior, supporting the structure.
Arts Team, which has developed the project, said it is “pushing the boundaries of timber frame construction” by creating large free-form volumes.
