Cumbrian-based timber window and door supplier West Port and Winlock Security have struck a partnership deal which is benefiting both companies.

West Port recently won several key social housing window replacement contracts in London, Newcastle and Cambridge and it has chosen Winlock’s window handles as the preferred product on its standard ranges.

West Port managing director Sean Parnaby said: “A majority of our clients are in social housing and they need a handle that’s going to be reliable and operable for a long time.”

And the company’s sales director Geoff Taylor is optimistic that timber will enjoy a revival in fortunes as its eco-friendly and sustainable nature gains acceptance from social housing specifiers.

He added: “Huge advances in timber treatments coupled with modern and sophisticated timber door and window manufacturing processes are evidence of the potential for timber.”
