A wood pellet manufacturing operation at JELD-WEN’s Lowestoft factory has won the Suffolk Greenest Business award.
JELD-WEN, the Briquette and Pellet Company Ltd and Bentwaters Park Ltd jointly won the award for the operation.
Pellets are made from wood offcuts and sawdust at JELD-WEN and then distributed to schools, businesses and other clients in the area.
Dan Rudge of the Briquette and Pellet Company said business was going well, with demand outstripping supply.
The plant has a manufacturing capacity of 10,000 tonnes per year.
