The Wood Recyclers Association (WRA), which was set up in March 2001, now has 21 member companies including three manufacturers of wood recycling plant and machinery.

Part of the Recycling Industries Alliance, the WRA is represented on several task forces within the Advisory Committee of Packaging, looking into various aspects of packaging recycling, on which it has also held meetings with government departments and the Environment Agency. The WRA also contributes to the work of WRAP.

WRA chairman Michael Tracey said: “There is much work to do in the area of emerging markets, including the use of wood as a fuel for power generation.”
