Ainslie raises funds at Edinburgh marathon
26 June 2014Keith Ainslie has raised more then £4,500 for Cancer Research UK by running the Edinburgh marathon in May.
Mr Ainslie, who is sales manager at James Jones & Sons, crossed the line in 916th place out of 8,624 runners, finishing in the top 10% of runners in his age category.
"I was running ahead of my target time until a bout of cramp at mile 17 forced me to slow my pace," he said.
He missed his personal best time by just 31 seconds. "With two miles to go, a personal best time was still a possibility so I picked it up again and crossed the line in three hours, 26 minutes and 22 seconds."
