American hardwoods to feature at Cologne Furniture Fair
7 January 2011The American Hardwood Export Council has announced two projects with Matteo Thun and RIVA 1920 furniture manufacturers at the Cologne Furniture Fair from January 18-23.
The first project, "La Cucina", is Matteo Thun's visualisation of the kitchen of the future. It is a collaboration of 12 companies bringing together raw materials, products, design and craftsmanship to present a new high quality, eco-friendly kitchen complex. American red oak and walnut lumber will feature.
The second project is a collection of furniture in American red oak, designed by Matteo Thun, Terry Dwan and Maurizio Riva, and manufactured by RIVA1920.
It marks Mr Thun and RIVA’s sustainable approach to furniture design, as American red oak is the most abundant species of the US hardwood resource.
