Arnold Laver reviews timber purchasing operations

11 February 2013

Arnold Laver has confirmed it is reviewing its timber purchasing operations as part of a review of the business.

The Sheffield-based business, which has 11 locations in the UK, confirmed the review but would not be drawn on details.

TTJ asked the company about industry rumours that it had changed its procurement operations including no longer planning to have a central wood procurement department. TTJ understands that redundancies have been made.

"We are in the process of reviewing several parts of the operations, as we would on an ongoing basis," said Andrew Wharrier, Lavers marketing manager.

"In terms of restructuring our purchasing team, that is something we are looking at, but cannot comment further," he added.

He said he couldn't comment on whether redundancies had been made.

Mr Wharrier said the changes were not major.
