ATIBT to discuss “reality" of Brazilian forest management

22 September 2007

The Association Technique Internationale des Bois Tropicaux (ATIBT) has released more details of its latest international forum, being held in Belém, Brazil from November 12-18.

The event is to focus on three main themes, sustainable forest management, carbon credits markets and the industrialisation of local tropical wood industries, and aims to allow those involved with the tropical timber markets to better understand the Brazilian wood market and “the reality of forest management” in the country according to ATIBT.

Delegates attending the biennial forum will also undertake visits to Brazilian forest reserves, see local wood industries in action and partake in debates on key topics affecting the tropical timber market.
