BSW Timber supports local motorbike champion hopeful

21 May 2014

Nine-year-old Newbridge motorbike enthusiast Rheanna Morgan-Rogers is one step closer to achieving her dream of winning the Bridgestone Clubmen British Schoolboy Motorcycle Association Championship, thanks to a £250 sponsorship commitment from local sawmiller BSW Timber.

Rheanna, who has been riding motorbikes since the age of three, will join the "Fight Like a Girl" MX Team in this year's race. The team is dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer and supporting the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care, following the diagnosis of one of the team members in 2012.

The sponsorship provided by BSW Timber will contribute towards Rheanna's race entry fees and safety clothing.

"We're pleased to be able to support Rheanna in her motorcycling career," said Dave Burd, mill manager at BSW Timber in Newbridge. "The opportunity to support local skills and talents is a good fit for BSW, particularly with Rheanna who has realised her passion at such a young age and is using that passion to support the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care. We wish her the best of luck in her upcoming race."

Rheanna said: "I'm really looking forward to the championship race and want to thank BSW for supporting me."
