Christmas celebration rounds off year of fund-raising
6 December 2014Christmas lunch and golf on December 5 has completed a year of fund-raising for the Midlands Region TTBS.
The event, held at the Olton Golf Club, Solihull, was attended by TTBS national president Malcolm Cowley, who was welcomed by TTBS general manager and Midlands region president and secretary Ivan Savage.
It was well attended by Midlands companies, including Wyckham Blackwell, Carver Group, Vincent Timber, Avalon Forest Products, Lonza Wood Protection, Crendon Timber Engineering, and ESW Knowles. Twenty golfers enjoyed nine holes prior to the lunch.
Entertainment was provided by professional vocalist Yolanda, Infiniti Magic and caricaturist Richard Russell.
Mr Cowley thanked the Midlands Committee for their hospitality and all the attendees for their continued support for the Society. He reminded them that they should continue to ensure that their retiring and leaving employees were informed of how to get in touch with the TTBS in case of need.
The event is expected to raise around £1,800 for the charity.
The Christmas lunch follows a full year of fund-raising, with two clay shoots organised by Wyckham Blackwell Ltd, two golf days in the spring and autumn and an October skittles and supper event.
