Christmas contest delivers trees to schools

17 December 2007

A dozen pupils from across Galloway, Scotland have won Christmas trees for their schools after designing festive postage stamps.

The competition, organised by Forestry Commission Scotland, required pupils to design an A6-size stamp depicting a festive scene or character.

Kells Primary School, in New Galloway, was the overall winner.

Forestry Commission Scotland said it was “really pleased with the number and standard of entries”.

“There are some very creative pupils in the Galloway area,” said competition organiser Lucy Hadley. “Very well done to everyone who took part and especially to Kells Primary School for such a stunning design.”
