Combilift ceased work in Russia and Belarus

Combilift has ceased all production and sales of Combilift equipment to Russia and Belarus and has suspended employment of its Russian-based employees since February 28.

“This was a tough decision to make after building close relationships with our Russian partners and customers, who have been a pleasure to do business with since 2005,” said Martin McVicar, managing director

“As the situation for civilians in the Ukraine  region worsens, we are deeply concerned for their safety and well-being,” he continued. “In partnership with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, Combilift is making an initial  contribution of €50,000 to aid the supply of relief assistance to the civilian population, including displaced people and those on the move. Additionally we have set up a Combilift Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid GoFundMe page for employees and their relatives to make a donation.”

Combilift has two Ukrainian employees in its manufacturing plant who are originally from Kharkiv and Chernivtsi.

“We have offered to assist where possible with bringing their close family members to Ireland, however, their relations like many Ukrainian people still have not decided to leave their home country,” said Mr McVicar, adding that Ireland has lifted visa requirements for all Ukrainians travelling to the country.

“We hope that those responsible for this conflict will cease military activity and that a democratic resolution will be reached,” he said.
