Composites receive FSC approval

9 August 2014

A Cambridge company has become the first UK manufacturer of hardware for timber sash and casement windows to receive Forest Stewardship Council certification for its wood plastic composite (WPC) products.

Mighton Products developed Mightonite, a mixture of durable plastic and timber flour to manufacture a range of products for timber windows and doors. It held an FSC certificate, but has now been certified for its WPC products.

The material will now be used in Mightbead and the recently launched Mightycill, the first UK-made range of WPC cills. The products are extruded profiles that include a range of beads, cills and thresholds for doors.
