Construction supply chain Wood Talks seminar attracts over 100

So far 112 people have registered for the next Wood Talks seminar, Wood from beginning to end – bridging the supply chain.

The event will cover latest examples of timber in construction, with a look at projects entered for this year’s Wood Awards, and also barriers to its greater application, including obstacles in specification and poor timber education in universities.

The chairman will be Roddy Langmuir of Edward Cullinan Architects and Timber Trade Federation chief executive John White will speak on the new Wood for Good Manifesto, while Professor Richard Harris of the University of Bath and Dr Andrew Pitman of TRADA will address timber education issues.

Andrew Wylie of Buro Happold and Benn Randall of Randall and Simmonds will tackle timber specification, and Phil Clark, digital and audience director at UBM Media, will provide "Tips for building relationships with architects".

The final speaker will be Michael Morrison, of Purcell Miller Triton Architects and chair of the Wood Awards judges, who will look at the winners in this year's competition.

A panel discussion and question session will be followed by lunch at 1pm.
