Edward Bennett takes over as NETTA chairman

9 July 2010

Edward Bennett, of Bennetts & Co (Grimsby) Ltd, has been elected as chairman of the North East Timber Trade Association.

He follows in the footsteps of his father, Tim Bennett, who was chairman in 1987. It is the first time for NETTA that two generations of the same family have held the post.

As Edward Bennett is due to become a father himself later this year, he said “it is a great honour to be chairman of the best timber trade association in the country, and who knows, in years to come, there could be a third generation of Bennetts in the chair!”

Outgoing chairman Peter Hunt thanked his committee members for their hard work during his time in office, and for making it an “enjoyable experience”.
