EPAL approves Sheeran

28 May 2009

CJ Sheeran of Mountrath, Ireland has been named as an approved pallet repairer by the European Pallet Association (EPAL).

The company underwent a "comprehensive process and technology assessment" to ensure it meets the EPAL repairer standards and requirements and the approval brings it into an international repairer network with 1,300 sites worldwide and a pallet pool of 500m units.

Paul Davidson, EPAL UK and Ireland chief executive, said that Sheeran's accreditation "brings EPAL repairer services to a new market".

The company's Mark Sheeran said he was "totally delighted" to pass the EPAL standard. "This is an independent assessement from the leading European pallet pool, which ensures pallets are inspected under strict quality procedures at regular intervals," he said. "And it brings another huge benefit to the table for customers."

CJ Sheeran is also approvd by the National Standards Authority of Ireland and Irish Forest Service to heat treat timber to the ISPM 15 plant health standard. It was recently named a finalist in the Irish Small Firms Association National Business Awards in manufacturing and environmental sustainability categories.
