Federlegno signs agreement with WWF

Leading Italian furniture and interior products firm Federlegno Arredo has signed an agreement with WWF against trading in illegal timber.

The agreement was signed at the Italian ministry for agricultural, food and forest policies, with both Federlegno president Paolo Bortolotti and WWF Italy honorary president Fulco Pratesi in attendance.

PEFC Italy secretary-general Antonio Brunori praised the accord and said forest certification was the most effective tool to ensure wood’s legality.

“PEFC Italy looks with satisfaction at the commitment of the producing world to the sustainable management of forests as well as a responsible wood supply,” he said.
