Finnforest's Tapiola modular office building has won Finland's top wood architectural competition.

Finnish minister of trade and industry Mauri Pekkarinen presented the 2006 Wood Award to Finnforest at the awards ceremony in Helsinki.

The five-storey building, the tallest wooden office structure in Europe, features a Kerto LVL frame, as well as glulam and ThermoWood cladding.

“I see a bright international future for such buildings as the wood renaissance continues,” said Pekka Helin, the primary architect on the project.
