FSC Africa director receives award

A regional director of FSC Africa has been presented with a prestigious award for his work in Forest Research, education and development in Ethiopia, more widely in Africa and the rest of the world.

Dr Demel Teketay Fanta received his award - Outstanding Contribution to Forest Research in Ethiopia - from the president of the Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Girma Woldegiorgis, himself a strong supporter of sustainable environmental management.

“I was thrilled to receive the award in recognition of my achievements resulting from long years of dedicated and sincere service,” said Dr. Demel.

Dr Demel is also a previous recipient of a gold medal and a certificate of appreciation from the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), and a further five awards from the American Biographical Institute (ABI).
