GBS launches low energy window

18 November 2008

Green Building Store has launched a new range of timber windows and doors designed to match Passivhaus and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6 requirements.

The Ecopassiv range offers a U-value of 0.75 W/m²K and includes an insulated frame with a polyurethane thermal break. It also uses Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) timber, making the “perfect partnership”.

“Responsibly managed forests have a vital part to play in keeping CO2 locked up, so a product which combines FSC certified timber with the reduction of CO2 from homes and buildings is the perfect partnership,” said Beck Woodrow, construction adviser at FSC UK.

It is the third product range from online building materials firm Green Building Store to use FSC timber, after Ecoplus windows and Ecoclad timber/aluminium composite windows and doors.

“Green Building Store is committed to the FSC certification process,” it said.
