GLTA signs Timber Industry Accord

13 September 2012

The UK Timber Industry Accord has been strengthened by yet another signatory - the Glued Laminated Timber Association (GLTA).

The GLTA follows the addition of the Wood Window Alliance to the long list of organisations to sign the accord in order to improve industry competitiveness and performance.

A total of 13 timber industry organisations have now showed their support.

“The GLTA has, for 25 years, been at the forefront of promoting timber as a primary structural material,” said GLTA chairman Chris Mettem.

“We welcome the Accord’s move toward more co-ordinated efforts throughout the industry supply chain which we are confident will have mutually supportive benefits for all.”

Timber Trade Federation chief exective John White welcomed the GLTA’s support for the Accord as part of efforts to grow the timber industry in the UK.
